Semester Finale
UGH its finals week here at CSULB so you know what that means....

Fortunately for me I am almost done! 4 down (Anthropolgy, Nutrition, Statistics Part 1 and Part2) now I have 2 to go (Psychology & History)...but that doesnt mean I get to relax...I have a lot of things to accomplish during this little winter break so it wont exactly be a vacation

Are You Up On: Christopher Shannon
While flipping through the pages of Super magazine I came across some amazing not-so-new-but-not-quite-old mens fashions and so i did a little digging and these clothing pictured below were made by a London based fashion designer by the name of Christopher Shannon. I love the way he gives us something new but in a familiar way, very innovative and fashion forward but still in the now!...pssss these picture are mixes of current and past seasons....

Im still learning how to work that aspect of blogger so please bear with me. Also there is a little art added to the title... I saw that picture and fell in love with it... cant remember the website I got it from though... but will give props where props are due as soon as I find it. =]

Quote of the Week
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

VMA'S A week later...still SMH
Ok Im quite sure everyone or almost everyone saw the VMA's last sunday and most of us are probably still shaking our heads or laughing everytime we see certain celebs who where the highlight of the VMAS..... so you already know which 3 people I'm about to talk about...
1st. Kanye, Kanye, Kanye!
That was so rude and uncalled for, the person you were standing up for didnt even appreciate that. You completely ruined Taylor Swifts moment. The coldest part about it was it was her first one..EVER and you know what they say..you never forget your 1st and you've made certain of that. But with that said I do think that the Kanye bashing has gotten a little out of hand, people are talking about boycotting his music and even the president has gotten involved with the name calling...(dont you have an economy to save and a nation to run?). If Kanye had came of stage ripped her dress off, smashed her trophy, slapped her then took the mic and said what he said, then that would really be something to talk about. Granted it was rude and what not but at the end of the day all he was interrupt her and he apologized...Now can we move on?
2nd. Lady GaGa
Im only gonna say 4 things about Lady GaGa and thats it...1. Why? 2. What the f*ck were you thinking with the clothes and the end of that performance? 3. You're bold and you take risk, I respect that. 4. you can actually sing.
3rd. Lil Mama
You totally killed that performance and not in a good way. You simply made yourself look like an ass and made the rest of America simultaneously say HUH (scratch head) WTH is she doing on stage? You lose the right to say or do anything else for the rest of the year. When children are bad they are put in time our and you sir are in TIME OUT. You and Kanye are gonna be the reason MTV decides to put gates around the stage, to keep people that are not suppose to be on stag off.

Nikki S. Lee.. GOOGLE HER
During my art class last semester we were required to go to different museums and review different types of artist, Nikki S. Lee was just one of the different artist we discussed. I never heard of her before that class but i love her work now especially the projects which features her posing in pictures with different types of people from skateboarder, lesbians, and senior citizens to Korean school girls, hip hop artist and fans. The idea behind projects was to investigate the ideas of identity, she'd spend various amounts of time with these different group to immerse herself in their identities. In doing this she challenges our concept of self/group identities because she so easily slips in and out of each sub culture. Because of the makeup and costumes used I probably wouldn't be able to recognize her, nonetheless She's a fly artist/photographer and the pictures speak for themselves...

You Have Nothing To Brag About
IDK about you but I hate when people constantly brag about the stuff that they have. Or when people are consistently telling you about how fly and fresh they are and how their "swag is through the roof". Thats so irratitating to me, if I said it once I'll say it a 1000000 times IF YOU ARE REALLY THAT DAMN FLY YOU DONT HAVE TO TELL EVERYBODY THEY WILL AUTOMATICALLY KNOW!
Now dont get me wrong there's nothing wrong with having something nice and telling your friends to check it out. But saying I got this and I got that...I got so much money...all my shit expensive... so & so is jealous cause of my swag and all that other stuff is stupid and if you actually dont have it like that it makes you look dumb. And if you didnt pay for none of your shit you got ur parents to buy it for you...sit down.
I guess the main thing that really bugs me about ppl bragging is when they dont even have it like that. which brings me to my next point I know a female who thinks she's just god's gift to earth, she thinks everything about her is bomb and you cant tell her shit... she always bragging about how she got this and she got that. Now I happen to personally know that the majority of her shit is A. bought buy her mom & B. is FAKE....who the hell brags about having fake shit? Grant she dont know that some her stuff is fake (but I do, but the stuff that she do know isnt real she brags about and has the nerve to try to put ppl down because they wearing fake stuff. Trick you fall into the same category...
I understand the whole fake it till you make it mind set (although I dont follow it)so there's nothing wrong with having fake stuff and being discreet about it, you know not drawing to much attention to it or putting it out there so you won't get called out. But flaunting and bragging about your fake jewels, purses, clothes, shoes etc. is soooooo NOT attractive. Bragging period is not an attractive trait but PLEASE DO NOT BRAG IF YOUR SHIT ISNT REAL and if it is real definitely dont brag if it aint top notch! I know somebody right now thats bragging about a 90 something Benz like is brand new...STOP...NO REALLY STOP

Miss Amy
I've been on a super Amy Winehouse kick these past couple of days, say what you will about the girls personal life and the way she looks, but the girl can sing! There's absolutely no denying that. Anybody who says she cant sing is a hater in its purest form.....Download her, YouTube her, Google her...whatever just listen. The song below is one of my favo tracks...from her 1st album Frank, You Sent Me Flying
Damn They Move Fast!

Just married and already expecting baby numero uno, not much time to really enjoy being newly weds. I soooooo hope they have a boy because Kendra is not exactly girly LOL but thats "my girl" though, I love her she is super funny & you can tell she is being herself. I love her and Hank as a couple I feel they balance and compliment each other... Anywho wish them all the best

Welcome To Texas

Greeting from the beautiful state of Texas.... So I've been in Texas since like late thursday night and I've enjoyed myself thus far although the reason why I came out here wasnt a pleasant one, everyone is making the best out of the situation. The worst part is thinking about the long ass trip home...BTW we DROVE, yes drove!!!! WHY because my mother is freaking insane from Cali to Texas is a 20 hour and 35 minute trip (not including the stops you have to make) which was made longer because we got a flat tire @ 4AM in Tucsun Arizona and had to wait 2 hours until the nearest Hertz opened and by the fact that we got pulled over by the effing police twice once we actually got into Texas. The 1st officer was a lowkey D*ck my aunt got a ticket for like $500. The second dude let us go because we're not from out here. Anyway so I didnt really notice a lot of differences between here and home except ofcourse things are alot slower and theres alot of black people lol! like back in Cali the whole swap meet is filled with Asian workers and they sell the lil fake coach with the G and O's. But out here their entire swap meet is owned by black people with the exception of the jewlry places (owned by Asians lol) and although i dont f*ck with it they got some good knock offs lol. They got a nice mall to kinda reminds me of the Del Amo mall except bigger and with a ice skating rink inside (DOPE). My grandpa stays kinda far from everything so that was a little trip in itself. Im in Desoto BTW a few mins from Dallas, i
ts considered a rich neighborhood.... I must say the houses are nice. Anyway I'm head back home in the wee hours of the morning but i will definately come back (next time im flying). They camera was left at home so there arent many pictures (sad face)....oh yeah the hair styles out here is something else smh at the dudes and the females idk how to even describe it some stuff was bomb but others is just plain stupid and UGLY
P.S. WHO EVER LIVES IN INDIO CALIFORNIA IS F*CKING NUTS ITS 102 DEGREES AT 12 AM I SO COULDNT DO IT, I MENTION BECAUSE WE HAD TO DRIVE THROUGH THERE TO GET TO ARIZONA AND THAT STRAIGHT UP IS THE DEVILS ASS :-D

I wanted to wait until my Internet was working so I could properly post this but it's still acting an ass... So I'm typing this from my iPhone... If you haven't been living under a rock by now you should have heard the terrible news that the legendary king of pop Michael Jackson has passed. Yesterday after suffering a cardiac arrest he was taken from his home to UCLA hospital where moments later he was pronounced dead, he was 50 years old. It was such a sad & horrible moment for MJ fans, supporters & family alike. But it's amazing that during such a beautiful moment where people everywhere are celebrating the memory of Michael that someone still manages to speak negatively, Perez Hilton, how messed up do u have to be to say the things you said @ a moment like this? Joke or not it was not funny! But this post isn't about him it's about Michael so I won't speak about that any more you can Google it if you want to know what was actually said...I'm a huge fan of MJ you have idea how many times I've seen the thriller video imitated, I even taped the video & the making of that video to learn the moves lol. I think it's so amazing how everywhere I went today I heard ppl playing his songs or talking about him. When I first heard the news I didn't know what to say or how to feel because it hadn't sunk in yet. But while I was watching the news they started talking about his inspirational songs specifically We Are The World & as I flipped back to the videos there it was We Are The World was playing & I started feeling sad because it suddenly hit me that it was really real. Michael Jackson was an amazingly talented & overall inspiring person, he may no longer be physically with us but he made a major impact on the world in so many ways and his spirit will live on through his music. We will forever celebrate & cherish the memory of Michael Jackson August 29 1958- June 25 2009

R.I.P. DOLLA
Up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Dolla was shot in the head and killed in an altercation outside a shopping mall in Los Angeles on Monday, May 18th. He was 21 years old. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dolla was gunned down while he waited at the Beverly Center’s mall valet with rappers DJ Shabbazz and Scrapp DeLeon. Dolla’s publicist said that before the shooting, a man and woman were trailing the rapper. Police have “two persons of interest” in custody; cops picked up one man at the ticketing area of the Los Angeles International Airport with a gun in his possession. As of this morning, the man in custody, Aubrey Berry, has been charged with murder, TMZ reports.Dolla was in Los Angeles to continue work on his debut album, A Dolla & A Dream. Born Roderick Anthony Burton II in Chicago, the rapper’s family relocated to Atlanta from L.A. when he was five after his father’s suicide. First a member of the Elektra-signed Da Razkalz Kru, Dolla made his way up the Atlanta hip-hop scene and was eventually recruited by Diddy to be a model for his Sean John fashion line. Around the same time, Dolla hooked up with Akon, who signed Dolla to his Konvict Music Records in 2007, and Dolla recorded the hit “Who the Fuck Is That?” with T-Pain, which reached Number 82. His follow-up single “Feelin’ Myself” was featured on the Step Up soundtrack. “He had a very promising career,” Dolla’s publicist Sue Vannasing said yesterday. “He was being hyped as the next Tupac [Shakur]. He chose music to get off the streets.”
According to TMZ, authorities picked up Aubery Berry at the airport. “As the officers approached the suspect, they asked him ‘Do you know why we’re here?’ ” airport police spokesman Sgt. Jim Holcomb told the AP. “He put his [hands] up in the air and said, ‘Yes, I’ve got a gun in my waistband. Don’t shoot me.’ ” Police recovered a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun from Berry, who is reportedly being held on $1 million bail.
“My music is universal,” Dolla wrote on his MySpace page. “I can do street music or pop music. But whatever I do, I attempt to make meaningful songs with substance.”
